Transaction Process

im developing web application and it has a transaction named 'Receipt'. so
user can issue receipt in sevaral locations. but receipt number should be
continuesly. when issue receipts in two locations at a time receipt number
will duplicate?, i want correct this problem. what is the best way to do this.
