converting to master page and asp.net ASPState

JJ
Is there a quick way to convert aspx built with 1.1 framework to use Master
page or is this manual process that I must do (copying code and copying
controls into the contentplaceholders?)

Also is the session state database created by aspnet_regsql command
compatible with 1.1 application?

Thanks
