gridview custom pager with command buttons

How can i use both of these command buttons along with the default 123456
paging system?

<asp:LinkButton ID="btnNext" runat="server" CommandName="Page"
CommandArgument="Next" text="Next"/>

<asp:LinkButton ID="btnPrevious" runat="server" CommandName="Page"
CommandArgument="Previous" text="Previous"/>
