question about profiles

Hi,

i make some profiles and it works. The data of the current (anonymous) user
defined in web.config are stored in a database (aspnetdb).
My question is: when the same (anonymous) user goes back later to that
webpage without to login , how can the website shows the right profiles?
Does that happen with cookies?

Thanks
André
