I am looking for a control that lists items side by side i.e.. 2 or 3 items
per row and still give the functionality of sorting and paging

Data List gives you the opportunity to do the exact same thing..
You can define columns... and also repeat direction ...
for paging and sorting see this articles...

Data List gives you the opportunity to do the exact same thing..
You can define columns... and also repeat direction ...
