For AJAX, you can ask in comp.lang.javascript, which deals with
JavaScript in general, and has a few good experts in AJAX too.
Otherwise, this group is quite OK for that too, and especially for ATLAS
(which BTW has been renamed in ASP.NET AJAX and is fully part of ASP.NET
now)

Currently, the forums on www.asp.net are the only dedicated ATLAS forums.

They can also be accessed via NNTP,
so they can be called "newsgroups", too.
