play media files

hey all,
how do i play media files on my web page?

browsers do not directly support this. you need to use a plugin. pick the
plugin of choice, flash, qucktime, real audio, media player, etc. for each
there is a plugin you have the client install on their browser. the plugin
will come with documentation for using it in a browser. generally you use an
object tag, with a ref to the plugin (active/x). the plugin geneally then
want a url for the file to play.

I wrote about this in detail and created a control to encapsulate the
complexities involved with playing media files in an ASP.NET web page.
