ASP.NET 2.0 hosting in the UK

Hello

I'm looking for a suitable host for an ASP.NET application, but there
are so many out there that I don't know which to choose. Can anyone
advise?

They must support the following:

· ASP.NET 2.0
· SQL Server 2005
· remote database access using local SQL Server tools
· publishing from Visual Studio 2005
· credit card transaction processing

And, preferably, they should be UK based.

Or a link to a site that compares such hosts.

Thanks a lot!

Mark

Mark,

I use these guys: www.hostinguk.net Superb service and excellent technical
support.
· ASP.NET 2.0
Yes.
· SQL Server 2005
Yes - also SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services
· remote database access using local SQL Server tools
Yes - you can just register their SQL Server box in Enterprise Manager, or
use their web-based front-end...
· publishing from Visual Studio 2005
Yes, if you want that. I actually *MUCH* prefer to use Web Deployment
Projects, and then FTP the files up...
· credit card transaction processing
Not sure what you mean by this - they're not a merchant acquirer like
Barclaycard, but then I don't know of any ISP who is - that's not their
business. However, there's nothing to stop you hosting e-commerce web
applications with them - I already host a couple of sites with them which
include PayPal integration... Obviously, they support secure certificates
(SSL).

They also offer SharePoint hosting too, as well as "other" facilities such
as Linux, ColdFusion, mySql etc...
And, preferably, they should be UK based.
Yep.

Don't forget to tell them how you found them... I'm not on any sort of
commission at all, but it never hurts to keep your ISP sweet... :-)
