Multithreading for Data Binding in Page Load

Hi,

My page takes a while to load(about 2 mins) since it has to bind data
from different databases and this is how I plan to do it

Run the function in a new Thread which gets the data and binds it to the
dataset and the dataset to the session.

Display a Progress bar initially and make XMLHttp requests to the page
to find out whether the data has been binded. If the data has been
binded, I get the dataset from session and bind it to the grid.

Is there a way to do this without using session(for storing the dataset)
or is there an alternative way(simple one)

Thanks
Ponnu
