Programmatically loading images from NNTP newsgroups

Hi all.

I have to load articles from NNTP newsgroups into my page. Each article
contains an attachment as NITF xml document and normally it has a reference
to image, but the location of the image is typically something like
news://newsclip.ap.org/c8***********...**@news.ap.org.

Does anyone know how to load such image? Can't figure it out :(
Thanks for any help!!
