Gridview placed in edit mode jumps and loses place

I have a gridview on an ASP.Net 2.0 web site that is longer than the
web page. When a user navigates to a row off the page and clicks on
the edit button on the row the page refreshes (posts back?) and resets
itself to the top of the gridview. The user than needs to scroll back
down to the row which is in edit mode, to make the changes. I would
prefer not to use paging, if possible. I am using the standard edit
button with allow editing turned on. What do I need to do to stop the
page from doing this? Is there some way for ASP.Net to remember the
row that was clicked and automatically scroll back to the row that was
placed in edit mode?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I was able to find the MaintainScrollPositionOnPostback property and
that solved my problem. Now if they can get the flickering to stop, it
would be perfect.
