Application does not work after upgrading from W2k to XP

Hi,

Please oblige if this is a repeat message.

I was working on W2k OS and hd a windows application to monitoring my
folders (FileSystemWatcher)... it writes any changes to a log file, due to
company policies, it was upgraded to XP Pro and now the application does not
work(does not monitor)... does not write to the log file?

does upgrading screw up apps?

Thanks,
Stephen
