Need Control type

If I pass a WebControl to a function, I want to get that controls 'type',
and then loook at the other properites avaiable for that type, like
..Checked, vs .SelectedIndex.

How can I get the type?

Sounds like you're likely going to need reflection to fulfill your
requirements unless there are a very limited number of controls & properties
you have to deal with.
