Registering user control programmatically

Hi all,
I'm trying to programmatically render a user control,
but problem is, i don't have the control type
and i cannot use register directive as the context is not an aspx page.
Any ideas, links.
Thanks,
Sharon.

Ok, my aim is to use controls with Ajax.
Server renders the control & sends html back to javascript.
I'm not sure if i should use user controls or implement server controls.
Can i override pager post back behavior to use Ajax javascript methods?
Sharon.
