ASP.net application error

I have both framework 2.0 and framework 1.1 installed on my machine.
The asp.net application I am running should use framework 1.1 ( it is
developed in framework 1.1)

I am getting the following error.

Server Application Unavailable
The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is
currently unavailable. Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web
browser to retry your request.

Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this
specific request failure can be found in the application event log of
the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused
this error to occur.

I checked the event log and nothing in the application and system event
log.

Earlier this morning I was receiving these errors in the application
event log

The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( .NET Runtime ) cannot be
found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry
information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote
computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this
description; see Help and Support for details. The following
information is part of the event: Unable to open shim database version
registry key - v2.0.50727.00000.

aspnet_wp.exe (PID: 276) stopped unexpectedly.

***Found a positng on the MS Website which recommend download latest
office update, I ran an office XP update rebooted the machine and
after that it is stop logging anything in the eventviewer but
application is still not working
