.NET validation controls

Sai
Guys,

I have used .NET required filed validator and regular expression
controls in my ASP.NET app.
Everything works well locally.

When we moved to Network it only works in FIREFOX browser it does not
work in IE.
Anybody has a clue why this is happening.

I have a simple login page which has 2 text boxes and one submit
button. The submit button does nothing when I use IE and it works file
when I use FIREFOX browser. If I remove validation controls and write
javascript then it works fine in IE.

Please advise.

Thanks,
K

I'm guessing that you are using ASP.NET 1.1. Please see the first topic of
this article to solve your problem: http://aspalliance.com/699.

Personally, I hate javascript validators as they prevent you from defining
your own logic without some jiggery pokery. For example you may want the
user to be able to postback to the server without specific validators so you
end up having to write custom validators. I have abandoned them and do all
my validation in code-behind, yeah I know ( Round trip expense ) but if you
design your forms well, the incidence of failure is less and you can have
smarter or at least easier control over validation.
