creating thumbnail from image

hi,
I've been using the system.drawing.image.GetThumnailImage() to create a
thumbnail from an image a user uploads to web. I save the result as a gif
image. Works fine except that the color resolution is awkard, seems like a
16 bit color image. How can I change the target color depth?

You will get much better response if you post to the drawing newsgroup.

Daves,

I have an example project on my website for doing image manipulations for
both .jpg and .gif:
http://www.aboutfortunate.com/defaul...agemanipulator

It's a .net 1.1 project that I haven't converted to 2.0 yet (although I've
repurposed the code to 2.0 for a completely different application so if
you're using 2.0 it's easy to lift and use the code).

I think taking a look at the code will help you. If you have any questions
feel free to email me.
