HTTP 405 - Resource not allowed

I'm installing our .NET application on Windows XP machine at the request of
one of our staff. The app is currently running fine on a 2003 server. When I
call the page that performs the user login, I get the message HTTP 405 -
Resource not allowed. No messages appear in the event log.

The login page is the first page that accesses the database via our custom
components. I have no trouble opening aspx pages that do not access the
components or db.

What could I be overlooking? Any suggestions?
