We have an ASP.NET application which works fine with Windows IE browser. But
when users try to use Macintosh IE 5.2 browser to access ASP.NET web
application, the weir thing is happened.
Basically, It can not switch to another page when users click a button or
link buttons which they suppose to do. I checked the code and find that the
every button action includes a line code of “Response.Redirect”, and that
method seems not work well. It’s happened intermittently, sometimes after few
minutes and at different pages.
The rest of code runs just fine. I can type the page URL manually on browser
and continue to run web page without problem (Database updates and Session
states are OK, else the app will be blowout).
I search the Google and find same exact complains, but with no solution. It
looks it happened for a while.
Does any one know the problem? Any suggestion, solution, or guess is
welcomed. I don’t have clue. Thanks.
BTW, The browser is Mac IE 5.2 (run MacOS X), The server is ASP.NET 1.1

I imagine it has something to do with the HTML being rendered and not any
ASP.NET specific. I would recomend using a W3C validator against the
outputted HTML, that should help identify the problem.
Reponse.Redirect runs on the IIS server and has nothing to do with the
client browser accessing it.
Hope this helps,

You may also consider upgrading to ASP.NET 2.0 where more care have been
taken to generate browser compatible html and scripts, also more browsers are
considered "up-level" in ASP.NET 2.0
It sounds like these users may have turned off javascript so check on that first.
Also, response.redirect shouldnt show up in your html, but I guess you ment you
saw it in the server code ?
