user schema change for ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider

Hi,
I'm trying to extend my ADAM User class to handle integer data for
'attributeMapFailedPasswordAnswerCount'. It seems that I can add an
attribute into ADAM, with no problems, and even see it in the ADSI edit
tool but asp.net 2 always rejects the new schemas with an error
Parser Error Message: The attribute 'FailedPasswordAnswerCount'
specified as a schema mapping for
'attributeMapFailedPasswordAnswerCount' is not an attribute of the user
class.
ADAM has no problem with the field but asp.net 2 does.

Basically I've tried so many ways to get this to work and am not sure
if its just a bug in asp.net 2:
I've tried-
1) create new attribute in pool and add it as an optional attribute for
the user class
2) extend an auxillary class with the new pool (eg person or top)
3) create a new auxillary class, attach the attribute and then use that
aux. class as a parent class.
All of them work fine in ADAM but .net keeps giving me this cryptic
message. Any ideas?
