Can /bin directory be virtual?

I want to share common code across multiple instances of an ASP.NET web
application by make the /bin directory of each installation point to the same
/bin directory.

Is this even possible?

I'm not having any luck. A 'physical' /bin directory works fine, but making
it virtual results in a global.asax error being thrown, due to not being able
to find the compiled code-behind for global.asax (global.asax.cs)

That's what happens when you try to subvert the platform's rules.

Nope. Perhaps with "hard links" but my personal preference would be just to
include this in my "deployment procedure" and copy those DLLs on each site
(you'll have anyway for ASPX files at least with 1.1)...
