Smartnav flickers if page contains dropdown (i.e. select)

Enable smartnavigation. Put a dropdown (i.e. a select type form field)
on your web page. Perform a postback. The page will flicker, which
smartnav is supposed to avoid.

You can workaround the problem if there is only one dropdown on the
page, by copying the value to a hidden field of the same name, and then
removing the node and it's children representing the dropdown prior to
postback, but this doesn't work when two dropdowns are present for some
reason.

I hope there's a way around this problem.

Thanks for your help.
