Version managing

Hello, my name is michal and i work as scm.
I am working with Visual Studio .net 2003
I wanted to know if I can update my *.rc files with the version number
throught one include file, which will be written in the 'Resource Includes'
option of the *.rc files.
and if I can should the include file contain a specific format?
