Smart Navigation problem with mulitline TextBox

I have a problem using a mulitline TextBox in .NET 1.1 with SmartNavigation.
The text wrapping doesn't work correctly. If I click into the textarea and
click ESCAPE the text is displayed correctly.
If I switch off SmartNavigation everything works fine.
The text is fetched from a SQL Server database.
It seems to be a bug because the error doesn't ocurre on my local IIS with
Windows XP service pack2 but only on our windows 2003 servers.

Any ideas are very welcome,

Unfortunately, SmartNavigation comes with a lot of quirky problems
like these. In 2.0 it is dropped in favor of SetFocus and
MaintainScrollPositionOnPostBack.

If you are stuck in 1.1 I'd recommend dropping SmartNav. If you use
google you can find some 1.1 implementations that maintain scroll back
positions.
