Page Counter

Does anyone know why this code doesn't increment page hits in aspx ?

I know that it was an asp com object and I know to use the global.asax for
hit counters in aspx, but not all my pages have been converted to aspx yet

and I thought this would be an interim solution for our web site

PageCounter.PageCounterClass PC = new PageCounter.PageCounterClass();

PageCounter.IPgCntObj PCHit = (PageCounter.IPgCntObj) PC;
PCHit.PageHit();
