speedtest

I am thinking about building a speetest application for a website i have. So
i am wondering if anyone in here can point me to information about how to do
that? I have roamed the web for articles and info, but so far no success.
The app should offer the user a test where it meassures average speed and
time it took to download image (or file). I will provide this in a ASP.NET
site
best regards
Trond
