Update a label on a page while server is doing something else

I need to run a lot of sql data inside the DB, but I want to avoid user to
think that something goes wrong simply adding a label that show the current
record is being process.

At the first time I thinked to use the thread, after the delegate
mechanism, but in both case, despite all works fine I'm not able to update
the label.

I suppose that this could be much also for .net, but I'm not completely
sure. Maybe I'm going in a soap bubble.

Any help?

Thanks.

Take a look at:

There's indoubtedly some code you can use to achieve what you are after.
