Sending Files To Client Browser

My application sends reports to client browser changing the content
disposition header meta-tag to "attachment;filename=report.pdf". Everything
was fine till last week when I installed the latest Windows security patch;
now the web page that "transports" the file to the client browser hangs on
the screen instead of closing itself. Anybody else experiencing the same
problem? Any workarounds?

Any help is highly appreciated!
