.Net assemblies w/ Internet Explorer

In ASP.NET 1.x you could write a class library that contained WindowsForms
elements, include an object tag on the ASPX page and then access the public
properties and methods of the assemble from unmanaged javascript. For some
reason I can't get the same thing to happen in ASP.NET 2.0. I am unsure if it
is the fault of the DLL (compiled in 2.0) or some change to the IE
communicates with the CLS.
Any ideas?
