Tab Index Problem

Hi Everyone
I have a web form that contains many controls & i use tab index
The problem that there is dropdownlist that have property autopostback is
true so when the user choose from the dropdownlist the selected tab index
lost & start from begining
Any Idea How can i retreive the index to the same control ????
