ArrayList typecasting from binary SQL data

Jim
Is there any way that you can insert an ArrayList into a SQL Server database
as a binary object then retrieve that object and use it as and ArrayList. If
so, how would you do this?

assuming the objects in the arraylist are serialiable, use the
BinaryForatter and a memory stream to convert the arraylist to a memory
stream, and pass the stream (or byte array) to the database.
