using the same .dll file in both asp and asp.net

Hello,

I have a COM component. I am using this component in asp pages. I want to
use this in asp.net(vb.net) project too. The asp code exists in the sub
directory of the asp.net project. If i add the com component in the
reference to this (asp.net) project then can i use the same for the asp
pages too. or Do i need to register the component separately for the asp
pages??

Regards,
Nita.
