dotnet installed twice

I have some how ended up with 2 installations of the dotnet framework (1.1
and 1.03). Now it keeps telling me I need an update, but the update never
completes. I was going to remove the 1.03 version, but I can't seem to do
that either.
Help.

You don't need to remove .NET Framework 1.03 to use .NET Framework 1.1.
Just force IIS to register on .NET Framework 1.1 with "aspnet_regiis.exe -i"
in
[%WINDOWS%]\Microsoft .Net\framework\v1.1.XX\).
