Or you can intialize them in the aspx page.

public class UC1 : UserControl
{
public string Prop1;
public string Prop2;
}
<user:UC1 id="userControl" runat="server" Prop1="property 1" Prop2="Property
2" />
Or you can use the Init or Load Event for the UserControl.
