Hi,

Can Someone tell me what an .snk file is?

And how is it related to ASP.NET

Thanks

It has mor to do with .NET assemblies, than just ASP.NET. It contains
public/private keys with which you can strong-name your assemblies. For
details, take a look at this link:

My bet is that this is what you're asking about. Strong names allow for
unique identification of an assembly in an attempt to avoid "DLL hell."

Signing an assembly with a strong name
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...strongname.asp

Strong Name scenario:

SN.exe
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de..._name__sn_.asp

GACUTIL.exe
