A long running Stored procedure is not timing out. Why??

I am facing a problem.
I have a long running Stored procedure. As per what I have read, if
OleDbCommand.CommandTimeout is not set, as is in my case, the query should be
timed out in 30 seconds which is the property's default value. But this is not
so. The page just hangs while the query is running. Shouldn't the command be
timed out? Why isn't it so? Why isn't either the ExcecutionTimeout or
CommandTimeout working?
Could someone please throw some light on this.
