Showing some activity while caching a database

Hi,

While you cache a db you should be able to show some activity to the user.
The caching might take a while if the database is big, so to prevent the user
from turning into another site with better speed, you should show the user
some activity progress (progressbar) in the best case, second best just
something happening on the page, third just switch to another page saying
"We're caching our database for the moment, please wait..."

Any ideas?

TIA
