Question about the web project

Hello,

I created an asp.net web project in VS.NET. It created
a directory under wwwroot. Lets call this
directory "mydir". Now mydir is also a virtual directory
which is created by VS.NET. What I want now is to connect
to my http://localhost/mydir without having a virtual dir
on mydir. Is that possible? I know that if I create a dir
in the wwwroot manually and put in an aspx page then it
works. However when I remove the application name of mydir
then it doesnt work. Can somebody help me out?

Thanks
