Using aspnet user to sql server

I saw a post in October that related to the problem I'm having and posted
something yesterday but never saw it show up, so I'll try again. I read
secnet.pdf and gathered from that document that one recommendation was to
use the aspnet user to connect to sql server. It laid out the steps to do
this and I've tried it and am having problems. I have configured IIS6 in
both IIS5 isolation mode and in IIS6 mode and was able to make both
configurations run in the context of the machine/ASPNET user either using
the machine.config or setting the ASPNET user to the identity of the
application pool and making ASPNET a member of the IIS_WPG group. I used the
(System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurr ent().Name) call to verify
the context in my app.

I also created a local ASPNET user on the sql server machine and then
created a sql login and user for ASPNET and added the ASPNET user to the
public role so it would have read access to a test database. I've configured
my asp.net app to use integrated security in the connection string and I get
the following error:
Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL
Server connection.

The error actually makes sense to me since this user is associated with 2
separate machines and is not a domain user. However, I gathered from the
secnet.pdf that it should work. I'm trying to use the recommended method for
connecting to sql server so if you have a better suggestion please let me
know.

Thanks for any help,

John
