server controls with dynamic data

Hi!

Is it possible to use data generated dynamically (from DB) as properties in
server controls?

example:

<TEST:someControl runat="server" property=someProperty />

someProperty is generated from a database.
the syntax <%=someProperty%> does not work...

Thanx for your help!
