load balancing behind F5

Hi,
I have to load balance a c# application which is using sql server as
the backend. My application has a lot of session variables.

I have read that same MachineKey configured in your machine.config
file on all machines on the farm will take care of the session
management. Is that true. Anything different with F5?

Thanks,
Deepika Khandelwal
