Placeholder or Panel

What is the difference and why would you use or the other if you just
need a place to hold other controls?

Thanks
Ralph Krausse

Hi,

The difference is that Panel renders also a tag (in IE it is <div>) around
the contents, which you can customize - set the style, alignment etc.
PlaceHolder, on the other hand, does not render anything to the client apart
from the content.

It is similar to the difference between Label and Literal.

Hope this helps
