Perhaps you are comparing a DateTime value with Double value? If yes, I
believe such comparison is not defined in either DateTime or Double.

can you be more specific ?

are you trying to assign value or are you trying to compare ?

if you are comparing i would suggest you use Convert class to convert both
variables being compared to same datatype. It is always better to use
explicit typecasting rather than implicit typecasting

Based upon the scant information you presented, I would have to guess that
you are either trying to assign a System.DateTime value to a Double, or
assign a Double to a System.DateTime. Try turning Option Strict ON. At
first, it may give you fits, but once you get used to using types correctly,
it will prevent further such incidents.
