why won't VS.net go into DESIGN view?

Ocassionally, I want to edit a standalone ASPX page without adding it to a
larger project. Usually just a small utility on the side for my own use.

So, I usually just grab a generic .aspx page, copy it into a folder and open
it up to start working on directly in VS.net. However, I can't get this type
of page to give me the option to go into Design View. Anyone know why?
Looking at the code, there's nothing unique about this page compared to any
of the pages that are in my project.

Darrel,
VS.Net will only go into design mode for aspx and ascx files that
are included in the project. It will not go into design mode if the file is
not added to the project, at least temporarily.

Hope this helps,
