Keeping a Session alive during long downloads

Hi,

in my ASP.NET app, I use a default Session Timeout of 20 minutes.
Everything works fine and Sessions are abandoned after 20 minutes.
This is exactly the behaviour I expect: After 20 minutes of inactivity
the Session becomes abandoned. But if a user starts a large downloads
which takes far over 20 minutes, the session becomes invalidated
during the download. So the next request after the download results in
an invalid Session error. I'm aware that downloading a file is one
single request and thus the Session times out regularly. But is there
a way to manually reset the Session timeout during the download
causing the session not to invalidate?
Thanks in advance.
