My Web server has somehow gotten to a state where I am getting the
"Cannot find WebUIValidator.js" error message. The file is, in fact,
in the directory it is supposed to be in, which is in fact under the
base directory of the default Web. For some reason I cannot run
"aspnet_regiis -c" -- it tells me I need admin priviledge, but I HAVE
admin rights. As far as I can tell, however, that just places the
file. I have compared everything I can think of on this server with
another one that is working and I can't see any differences in
permissions and so on.
This is really a bad situation because if I put any validation control
whatsoever into an ASPX it effectively disables the form. The
validation works but the Submit buttons no longer do. I think that's
because the validation replaces the submit function with an on-click
event involving WebUIValidator.js, and that isn't working properly.
Any ideas? There is an awful lot of stuff on this server to think
about re-imaging.
