Access to path... error

I wrote a very simple aspx (C#) just to make sure I could get things running
before I continue. It works fine on my local IIS. After copying it to a
real server (Win2K) and trying to access it via IE I get the following
error:

Access to path "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\Temp orary
ASP.NET Files\msi\1f654ff3\e4e43d67" is denied.

I have tried numerous permissions things on the server to no avail. Can
someone tell me what I'm missing?

I am in such a habit of writing Win2K Server I wrote that when it is really Win 2003, in case that matters.

Anyway, Indexing Service is not started, so that's not it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Something that bothers me is the icon beside the web site name in IIS under default web sites is a gear. Shouldn't it be a globe or something similar? Does that give anybody a clue as to what I'm messing up?
