Include In Project?

I have a few folders required by my WebApplication that are not included -
at least in the VS.NET IDE - in the VS project. Examples include a \Scripts
folder that contains a few JavaScript files and a \LogFiles folder that
contains log files that get updated at runtime by my application.

Is there any harm in either including or excluding these files from my
VS.NET project? Things seem to be fine as they are now without including
them... would there be any benefit of including them?

If you wanted to create an installation package, or if you were using Source
Control, including these files might make things a bit easier. Other than
that, you shouldn't have any problems either way.

and in addition:
If you do a "copy web" from your development-machine to a test or
production server, then VS ignores files that are not marked as belonging to the
project.
