Date of calendar

I am trying to get the date (month) of the calendar that is displaying at
the time on my screen.

In my server script, I am trying to the date of the current month on my
screen.

I was trying to use myCalendar.visibledate, which works fine after I have
hit either the next or previous button on the calendar. On the initial page
the value is 12:00 AM, when I look at it from "Page_load", which I
understand as the controls are not setup yet. But I get the same result in
my PreRender page, which is supposed to be after all the controls are set
up.

How do I tell which month is currently displaying, on the initial page,
before the page displays?

I know it is month of todays date, but that would only be valid on the
initial date.

Thanks,

Tom.
