GC.GetTotalMemory() and ASP.Net

If I call GC.GetTotalMemory from an ASP.Net application what memory space is being examined? Let's say I call the method and it returns 3000k. Is that 3000k in the context of IIS's memory space, my app's memory space, my session's memory space, the current request, or something else?

If I am using 3000k just to build a response, or for my session, that seems like it would be a bad thing and would severly limit scalability. However, if that 3000k is what is being used for my web app on the whole...that seems more reasonable.
